Title: Building a Virtual Topology Atop Wireless Devices

Abstract: This poster summarizes my contributions to a project in which inexpensive handheld computers are used to demonstrate routing algorithms for introductory networking students. The handheld computers communicate wirelessly, and can therefore reach any other handheld within range, but the routing applications require the illusion of a collection of point-to-point links. I was responsible for the design and implementation of this simulation system. My system also provides a friendly and generic interface to the virtual topology, allowing students to code their own protocols to use in the simulation. Judged third place at 7th Annual CCSC Northeastern Conference, Worcester State College, Worcester Massachusetts, April 19-20, 2002.
